"We felt like we were eating at the chef's home. The atmosphere is outstanding. The owners — both chefs — are now out on the floor taking orders, delivering meals, and genuinely engaging with diners. That personal, family-style approach creates a warm, homely feel. They have very capable chefs now to support them in the kitchen. Four of us dined there last night and every dish was spot on. Two pastas, one pizza, one steak and salad — all superb. My wife is gluten-free and said it was the best meal she’s had in a very long time. Fresh, simple, generous. She ordered the Tagliata di Manzo (sliced wood-fired eye fillet, medium-rare, with basil pesto, rocket, and shaved parmigiano reggiano) and absolutely loved it. Outstanding experience. We’ll be back again and again."

The food was exceptional—each dish was a masterpiece! I was seated front of the kitchen because I didn’t made any booking The seafood risotto was amazing, even tho they were super busy and I had to wait little longer they offered complementary dish that blow my mind The staff were friendly and very accommodating. Whether you’re a fan of Italian cuisine or just looking for a memorable dining experience, I can’t recommend The Hood enough. I’ll definitely be back to indulge in more of their amazing dishes!"

The pasta dishes are incredible, my favorite is the beef ragu with their fresh pasta, which is just perfect. Desserts are also outstanding. The atmosphere is super cool and welcoming. Highly recommend!!!! Definitely one of the best restaurants in Auckland!"

"The hood pizza is the most authentic italian pizza in all of auckland, and most likely all of the southern hemisphere. The young boy from rome has been gifted by god to provide happiness to the world through pizza. Its as simple as that. Agron, the owner, is warm and hospitable, and manages his business like a finely tuned machine. There is no wonder why people line up any day of the week to eat his stellar food. From my time living in italy i can say that this restaurant is comprable to the best among them in the heartland also. This is the auckland destination at the end of your hungry pilgrimage for genuine, quality, italian pizza."
